Sarkis‘ oeuvre has been shown at numerous international individual and group exhibitions, including When Attitudes Become Form in the Kunsthalle Bern (1969), Documenta 6 in Kassel (1977), and his major retrospective in the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn (1995-1996). The artist has presented his Icons in different museum contexts, 2007 at the Bode Museum, Berlin State Museums.

Uwe Fleckner, Professor for Art History at the University of Hamburg, has published numerous books and articles on the art of the 18th century to the present, art theory, as well as political iconography. Since 1995 he has been working with Sarkis on collaborative projects and publications, including The Treasure Chests of Mnemosyne: Selected Texts on Memory Theory from Plato to Derrida (English and French translations published in 1998, German original in 1995) and Bellek ve Sonsuz. Sarkis Külliyati Üzerine (Istanbul 2005).

Almút Sh. Bruckstein, founder of Taswir projects, an international platform for artistic research and diasporic thinking. She is a philosopher, curator of international exhibitions, writer and architect of the House of Taswir and the Taswir atlas. A.S. Bruckstein Çoruh held various endowed professorships, including Rudolf-Arnheim Professor at Humboldt University of Berlin. Author of House of Taswir. Doing and Undoing Things, and Vom Aufstand der Bilder, München: W. Fink Verlag, 2007/2014. Curator of the Taswir exhibition at Martin-Gropius-Bau Berlin 2009-2010.
