“This movie is a humble sketch to recognize the cultural heritage of the Kurdish Jews in my city Sulaymaniya. It is important to understand that Jews were in nowadays Kurdistan and Iraq as early as the late 7th century BCE.

The continuous presence of Jews in this region was crucial for the spreading of several civilizations. Jews were the ones who brought many skills and careers to the urban live, they were merchants, goldsmiths, architects, and more.”

“Jewish tradition belongs here in Sulaymaniya since the 7th century BCE –  we cannot deny that heritage.  My movie is a documentary of that forlorn heritage of the Jewish quarter in Sulaimaniyah.  I hope that it will have the widest possible audience in the future.”
