The work was created in the year 2009 as a commission by Taswir projects for the Taswir exhibition at Gropius-Bau Berlin, in which Sherif El-Azma was a participant.

House of Taswir is proud to be part of the NAKED CITIES project and thanks Charlotte Bank and Salah Saouli for their powerful work.

As a direct result of the “Where Have All the Jasmines Gone” exhibition, the work of Sherif El-Azma “Oh Father of Youths! Al-Qahira Out of Perspective” (2009/2021)  is now part of the ZKM collection in Karlsruhe.

We are looking forward to future presentations of this important work of El-Azma’s unique Cairo Psychogeographic Society inside and outside Europe.
